Staff don't simply learn about nervous system regulation - they get to experience it for themselves. This is how they truly understand what’s being taught!
School INSET/INSERVICE Training
for Pupil & Staff Emotional Regulation, Wellbeing & Classroom Engagement
Evidence-informed neuroscience & emotional regulation frameworks that are carefully engineered to engage with an intended age group at a specific developmental level. Our training helps staff understand nervous system regulation, improve classroom relationships, create calmer, more focused learning environments and regulate their own nervous system in the process!
What Is a Classroom Nervous System Programme?
Many teachers are facing increasing challenges around behaviour, emotional regulation, concentration, anxiety & additional support needs within the classroom.
This training is not designed to qualify staff to diagnose conditions or become therapists. Instead, it provides a practical & accessible understanding of how the nervous system influences behaviour, learning, attention & emotional responses.
When teachers understand how different nervous system states can influence behaviour & learning, it can transform the way they interpret both their own stress responses & the experiences of the children and young people they support.
Then using clear, non-technical language, participants learn how movement, posture, breathing & sensory input can influence nervous system regulation & support readiness for learning. When children & adults feel safe, settled & regulated, they are better able to access attention, thinking, emotional regulation & impulse control.
Staff are introduced to a range of simple, practical strategies that can help regulate energy levels, support focus & concentration, reduce overwhelm & create the conditions for effective learning by using our body’s physiological responses to planned movement.
The programme incorporates purposeful movement patterns that support sensory integration & healthy nervous system development. These activities are carefully woven into the training & can be used immediately within the classroom, without requiring staff to understand the complexities of individual reflexes or developmental movement patterns (these will be discussed in simplistic terms to understand WHY this is necessary for brain development).
The movement is not difficult; however, it strongly taps into the body’s physiological response to balance, not just the Nervous System, but also integrates the Vestibular, the Visual & the Proprioceptive systems to coordinate all 3 inputs simultaneously.
The taught FUN approaches can be used flexibly throughout the school day & require no specialist equipment or prior experience.
The result is a calmer, more connected classroom environment that supports emotional wellbeing, engagement & a sustainable teaching practice that benefits both pupils & staff.
This highly experiential training allows participants to feel the impact of the strategies for themselves, leaving with practical tools, a deeper understanding of behaviour & renewed confidence in supporting both pupil & staff wellbeing.
A certificate of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) will be provided to all participants upon completion of the training.
Staff don't simply learn about nervous system regulation - they get to experience it for themselves. This is how they truly understand what’s being taught!

... What Schools Say ...
“Literacy sessions with my Primary 1 class brought books & stories to life. The children moved through various positions without realising, as they re-enacted the stories told through the movement of their bodies. The sessions gave the children the opportunity to develop their focus & listening skills, and to move & stretch their bodies to find calm & enjoyment. It was a positive, holistic experience. “
Maria McDonald (St. Conval’s Primary, Glasgow)
“In 2022, Veronica led sessions for the Year 8 class on the mind-body-brain connection. Across the five sessions, four of which were held online & one face-to-face, Veronica was exceptional. Even though she didn't know the students beforehand, she related to them effortlessly & managed to hold their full attention, which is especially impressive in a virtual setting. She was highly attentive to the students' needs, extremely adaptable, and her deep knowledge and genuine passion for the topic were evident throughout. By teaching them practical techniques to both stimulate & calm their nervous systems, as required, she managed to strike the perfect balance, making the material lively & fun while remaining highly informative. The students learned a tremendous amount about how these practices impact their health & learning potential. This was clearly reflected in their own feedback sheets, which came back overwhelmingly positive. Overall, the sessions were a great success.”
Stephanie Lindsay (Head of MFL. 8L Form Teacher @ St. Michael’s Preparatory School, Jersey)
“Really positive feedback from the children - they all took something from the sessions and were so articulate about it! Thank you!”
Vicki Charlesworth (Headteacher, Les Landes, Jersey)
“I would definitely recommend Veronica and her Company for your training and to give you the confidence to get going. The course is thorough, the teaching is excellent, and if you give it the time it needs, you will feel confident and excited to start delivering to your teens.”
Amanda Campbell P.E. Teacher, Head of Faculty & Student Development, Hautlieu School, Jersey
